SEAL BEACH, Calif., Aug. 31, 2026 — Patriots Promise and STEM/Motorsports charity BNEVO closed out the summer with the first Comedians vs. Celebrities Golf Tournament at Old Ranch Country Club. Over 100 comedians, actors and actresses, TV personalities, sports announcers, basketball and football legends along with a slew of American racecar drivers made up the field.
Title sponsor Vardalux and apparel sponsor Katin were joined by a number of other partners including New York Life, Swinerton, PCI, Johns Manville, Cal State Long Beach, Adams Motorsports, Massage Band, Western Alliance Bank, Karl Kani, BLCK BRW Coffee Co, IEGS Corp, Gotham Bail Bonds, Regard Magazine, Nsite Me, Apex Design Worx, Trackside Sim Racing, Aesthetic Beauty Bar, Castle Body Shop, Get Up & Down Golf, Barbara Hollander & Associates, The Raad Life and S4INT Hydration.
The skies were clear and the temperature a perfect 80 degrees as the golfers teed off at 1 p.m. A shotgun start placed golfers all over the well-manicured course at Old Ranch. As participants moved through the course, Massage Band staff greeted golfers at Hole 3. Massage Band provided therapy and adjustments to all golfers throughout the day and even after the tournament was over.
Several sponsors had special games at holes throughout the course, most notably Hole 15, on which Vardalux sponsored a $25,000 Hole-n-One; 15 is the longest par 3 at Old Ranch. No one won the $25,000, but sponsors PCI and Karl Kani stepped up and offered six young racecar drivers an opportunity to win $50,000 and if no one won that prize, then the award doubled to $100,000. Alas, no one was able to make the hole-in-one, but all had a wonderful time trying.
At the halfway point of the course, just between Holes 9 and 10 was Flaming Fire Fish, which offered players a dish of some of the best fried fish anyone had ever had. That was the perfect meal to tide everyone over until dinner.
As the round finished and the sun set, everyone made their way to the banquet hall. Uniforms from various branches of the U.S. military decorated the main wall to recognize all veterans.
Patriots Promise and BNEVO awarded prizes for the two top teams and the players with the longest drive and closest to the hole. The awards, silent auctions and raffles saw participants go home with items ranging from a basketball autographed by Magic Johnson and Larry Bird to a limited-edition Karl Kani golf bag.
The night ended with a message from legendary comedian Joe Torry, a former host of "Def Comedy Jam". As well as, Hip-Hop icon Christopher Reid a.k.a., "Kid" from historic group "Kid 'n Play". Both spoke about community, supporting vets and young people, and doing this all again next year. Kid, who recently underwent a medical procedure, made it a priority to attend this year's event.
The staff at Old Ranch Country Club along with all the volunteers did an outstanding job in making this a day to remember. Patriots Promise and BNEVO are already looking forward to an even bigger event next year.
